Drained...

I was feeling lazy yesterday so I did not post anything...
Anyway, here's what my yesterday was...

I was tired, drained, exhausted, and full when I arrived home last night...
For my first class, I had my long exam...
It was quite easy for me because I studied hard for it...
I was able to answer the diagrams and essay part...
But the modified true or false was tricky...
Aside from writing if it's true or false...
We even have to underline the words or phrases that makes the statement false...
And write the correct words above it...
I spent most of the time in that part...
I enjoyed the answering the essay part...
I though the questions were cool...
There were 3 questions...
The first question was "state at least 5 engineeering/scientific concepts and it direct applications in the IC technology"...
The second question was "Is the cost of controlling the environment used in wafer technology justifiable?"...
And the third question was "as a materials engineer, what can you do to reduce the cost of producing a pure silicon?"...
These questions really made me think as a future materials engineer...
These are the type of questions that I will face when I practice my field...
These made me realize that I should start thinking in a materials engineer's point of view...
And the career I chose is not to be taken for granted...

After the exam, we had a 15 minute break...
(Although, we did not come back after 15 minutes but 30 minutes)
I checked my phone and saw the message from my professor in my next class...
I was surprised to see her message...
It said like this:
"We're having a very LONG EXAM today. Please prepare a large booklet."
We didn't hear anything about that!
We're not prepared!
She should have mailed us at least last Thursday...
But she did not...
She informed us just in the morning...
Talk about super cramming...

Good thing, I brought my lecture for the previous meeting...
But it's not complete...
We still need to study the previous lectures....
And Matthew lost his phone which contains the previous lectures just last Wednesday...
So bad luck...

We thought we won't have time to review...
Fortunately, our professor was called to the faculty room...
Some graduating students were defending their thesis and he (the professor in our first class) was invited...
So he went there and gave us time to study for the next subject...

Our professor for the 2nd class was an hour late...
Although there was time to study it was still not enough...
I was already drained that few information is getting inside my head...
Then, I gave up...
I decided to just go with the flow and do better in the next exam...
The exam was all essay...
There were 7 numbers...
I'm sure about my answer for about 3 numbers...
For the other 3 questions, I just wrote what came to my mind...
I hope my professor would give effort points...
For the last number, I was only able to answer half of it...
It was asking us to draw the schematic diagram of transmission electron microscope, scanning electron microscope and optical microscope as well as differentiate them...
I was able to differentiate them but I totally had no idea about the schematic diagram...
I did not even looked at it when I was scanning my notes...
At least I learned something...
My professor loves to give surprise exams...
So I have to study before every class...

For my last class, I received a mail from Lean (forwarded message from our professor) that he will not be coming...
(Lean did not come to class and she's not answering why)
So the class was cancelled...
We'll just be having a make up class on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm...
I mailed my dad to pick me up cause I don't have class anymore...
I though I'll be waiting alone but Matthew and Don-don joined me...
We waited for an hour and they did not mind it...
We just chatted and laughed while waiting...
We talked about random things...
And I got Matthew to talk about his girlfriend...
Well, the real reason why they joined me is:
Don-don can't go home to his dorm...
He indirectly got involved in a big fight last Thursday...
And he's kinda scared...
Matthew is waiting for his girlfriend...
She's watching her relative in the hospital until 9 pm...
They'll be going home together...
Still they are such nice friends...
When my parents arrived...
They even accompanied me to the car...
Really had a great time...

Then as usual, me and my parents went again somewhere...
This time, we went to duty free...
It's closing at 9 pm so we were in a hurry...
We only bought food, food and food...
We don't need anything else anyway...
As for me, I saw a watch that I liked...
It's cheap so my dad bought it...
My mom was whining that she wasn't able to buy anything...
And I was the one who bought something again...
She was saying "lagi nalang si Barbie"(It's always Barbie)...
Hahaha...She was so cute acting like a kid...
The same thing happened when we went to Baguio...
I bought a lot and she wasn't to buy anything...
I told her "How can you buy when you don't want and don't like anything?"...
Well, that's my mom...
But I really like her shoes...
She won't lend it to me :(
She's even keeping it in its box in their room and not in the shoe rack...
And I also like the new rubber shoes of my dad...
I really like the color, white and baby blue...
Like my mom, he's also keeping it in its box in their room...
He said he's only gonna use it if he goes out of the country...
What's up with my parents and their new shoes?!

After duty free, we went to the mall to eat...
I was so full...
We really ate a lot...
We ordered filipino dishes which we haven't eaten for a long time...
The coconut juice we drank taste awful though...
It tasted like medicine...

My mom and I are suspecting that my dad already got an increase in his salary...
He paid everything in cash yesterday...
Even the ones we bought in duty free which were in US dollars but converted to Philippine Peso when being paid...
My mom was saying something about my dad withdrawing money from ATM and still the balance was many, something like that...
My dad was telling us about the evaluation they had with their country manager...
And he got a 4 out of 5...
The only one who got a perfect score was their country manager...
(He evaluated himself so that's to be expected, right?)
So my dad is hoping to get an increase in January...
Maybe he already got it, maybe not...
Well, we can only hope...

I'm really happy mom is helping with talks to my dad...
He talked to my dad about me saving money for my studies in Japan...
She was even telling exaggerated stories like maybe I'm not eating anymore to save my allowance which is partly true...
I even opened an ebay account to sell the things I don't use anymore and of course to earn money...
Last night, my mom gave me the blouses that does not fit her anymore and told me to sell it...
This noon, my dad suddenly gave me the shirts that he does not wear anymore and told me to sell it too...
Sooo happy...
I feel that he now understands that I really really want to study there...
My mom just told me now that she's expecting my dad to give me more allowance...
Somehing like "here, deposit this in your bank account for your studies"...
I hope that really happens...

I wrote a lot today...
That was my day yesterday and today...
I'm off to church now to attend mass...
Mata ne ^_^
